Pattern blocks are highly recommended for teaching fractions. You can see a discussion about this, and a number of related activities, on this NSW curriculum support Teaching Fractions page. Note that this is a secondary page and many activities will be too advanced for primary children.
Note that Math Playground has an IWB friendly pattern blocks virtual manipulative, and there are a few others around, e.g. McGraw Hill Virtual Pattern Blocks, and the NLVM has some too (although you may find the NLVM less useful as Java is no longer as widely available as it used to be due to security concerns).
In the early years, the CMIT book "Pikelets and Lamingtons" is very helpful.
